2nd Debate - The Democratic Platform, Israel and Jerusalem

This was an ongoing debate on Facebook that started when the Democrats messed up big time and removed Jerusalem and "God" from their platform. I didn't care about the God part but the Jerusalem issue was a big deal and got a lot of press.
Here's an edited version of what was said on Facebook. (Sept 5th - 6th)

Obama has "removed a united Jerusalem as Israel's capital" from the Democrats platform? Really? That's it! I'm voting Romney! http://www.jpost.com/DiplomacyAndPolitics/Article.aspx?id=283920

Knesset speaker says Democrats' removal of Jerusalem as Israel's capital from platform is a bigger problem than disagreements on Iran, may have far-reaching consequences; Ariel: Obama's true face is revealed.

Gary Breitling  Nadia.. The platform says that the issue of Jeruselem is an issue for the parties involved to negotiate, and not for the USA to dictate.. and thats why they changed it

Gary Breitling as for Romney.... what I can see from here who you are and what you stand for.. as a woman.. you would revile everything about his platform regarding women
Nadia M. Levene well in THAT case Gary - it'll probably NEVER ben decided!
Nadia M. Levene Agreed Gary - however 1) MANY Israelis (and it's only the Americans here who actually count) are saying that Romney is better for Israel....however "good" a guy Obama may be....he's not good for Israel. 2) I can't vote!
Gary Breitling for decades the USA has tried to strong arm a settlement between Israel and the Arabs....just hasnt worked!!! Nixon, Regan, Carter(came close) Clinton( thought he came close but Arafat was jerking him and the world) its not for us to decide or push

Jonathan Zucker "Obama" didn't do anything. This was the party. As for Romney, I bet no one can tell me one thing that he truly stands for that hasn't changed with the political winds.
Also, Rivlin's statement is a perfect example of hyperbole. Iran poses an existential threat to Israel if they acquire nukes.
The current Democrats' platform does not.

Jonathan Zucker This should put people's minds to rest...

Democrats amend party platform to include language supporting J'lem as capital o
f Israel in wake of mounting criticism of 2012 platform that does not include language from 2008 recognizing city as Israel's capital.

Jonathan Zucker It appears as though Jerusalem was re-inserted back into the platform by none other than Obama himself. It's sad to see that so many partisans out there are simply in a "scorched earth" mode when it comes to Obama. It's been that way since day one. Dammed if you do. Dammed if you don't. These people can't be happy even when they have now gotten what they wanted! Make up your minds!!
I doubt one can give tangible criticisms of an Obama action/policy that has hurt Israel. Is he buddy buddy with Bibi? No. Then again neither are most Knesset members (or even many Likudniks!). Tachles, he's gone after Iran unlike any previous president, he's shared more intel than any previous president, he's upped all military cooperation from all previous presidents. Forget talk. I'll take actions over words any day of the week.
Since when did we get so needy and whiney that we need to be hugged and kissed? Sounds like a 4th grade girl I once knew.
